Dunkeld Cars terms and conditions of service

Before any booking is taken with us our terms and conditions as set out below must be acknowledged and accepted by the person/company making the booking. A paid deposit or acceptance of a confirmation notice will indicate acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Confirmation

Bookings are only confirmed when written confirmation is received from Dunkeld Cars (letter, email, SMS text or internet messaging service). Short notice bookings will be confirmed verbally at the time of calling.

It is the hirers’ responsibility to check all the information is correct, i.e date/time of booking, number of passengers, luggage requirements, travel information regarding flights/other transport connection information.

We will not be held responsible for any loss or inconvenience caused due to incorrect information given.

We will endeavour to check transport details supplied, but cannot be responsible for errors, cancellations or timetable changes which result in loss or delay to the hirer or passengers.

The hirer should advise at the time of booking if ‘comfort breaks’ will be required on the journey so that adequate time is allowed to ensure arrival on time at the destination.

Payment

Non-Account Holders

A 25% deposit is required to secure bookings and can be paid by cash, cheque, card or BACS transfer.

All deposits are non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed, with the balance paid in full prior to travelling.

Very short notice bookings require payment by card or cash which may be requested prior to travel.

Account Holders

Payment in arrears must be agreed prior to booking. Terms will be as agreed; failure to settle within this period may result in future bookings being declined and action taken to recoup outstanding monies.

Payment by cash, card or BACS transfer. We cannot accept payment by cheque.

Other Costs

Chargeable waiting times will commence 5 minutes from the agreed time of arrival/collection.

Waiting time is chargeable at £3 per 15 minutes, or part, for any waiting not included in the original booking. This charge also applies to any unexpected ‘on the way’ stops to the final destination.

Any detours will be charged at our standard per mile rate applicable at the time of travel.

Sub-Contracting

We reserve the right to substitute booked vehicles, however, we will do our utmost to ensure these are of equal quality.

Damage and Cleaning

Food/Drink

NO food or drink is allowed in any vehicle unless by prior arrangement.

A charge of £30 will be payable to the Driver if excessive food and/or drink substance is dropped in the vehicle.

Damage

Any malicious/unintentional damage or deliberate breakages/carelessness resulting in damage to the vehicle / loss of business, will incur an immediate charge of up to £100 and possible additional charge.  Criminal damage will be reported to the Police. 

Conduct of Passengers

Smoking and drug abuse is strictly prohibited in any vehicle.

We reserve the right to refuse admission / ask any passenger to leave a vehicle if deemed to be behaving in an abusive or destructive manner.

Passengers must not distract or harass the Driver or encourage them to break the law or any of these Terms & Conditions.

Should a booking be terminated due to non-compliance of these conditions, the full booking fee will still be liable.

Property and Luggage

All luggage, property and personal items are carried at the owner’s own risk and Dunkeld Cars accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage or theft of these items. 

Delays

Your Driver will take the route most appropriate to reach your destination at the agreed time.  We are not liable for any loss, inconvenience or liabilities due to delays caused by traffic, road-works or closures, diversions, extreme weather conditions, collisions caused by other parties etc.

In the event of a breakdown or accident, a replacement vehicle will be arranged as soon as possible.  However, we will not accept responsibility for missed connections or appointments.

Amended/Diverted Flights or Transport Connections

It is the hirer’s responsibility to advise Dunkeld Cars of any changes to arrival time/location and agree alternative arrangements.  This must be done immediately by telephoning 07419 115736.

Notification before the vehicle has left the depot will not attract any additional charges.

If the vehicle is already enroute, a fee will be payable based on the distance/time travelled.  Alternative arrangements may be made by the hirer at additional cost.

If no contact is made it will be deemed by Dunkeld Cars that the booking is cancelled and charges will apply accordingly.

Cancellations

Cancellation by the Hirer

Cancellations must be in written form. 

If payment has already been received by Dunkeld Cars, the hirer will be entitled to the following refunds:

25% Deposit payment is non-refundable

Less than 48 hours’ notice – 50% refund

More than 48 hours’ notice – balance of fare minus deposit value. 

Cancellation by Dunkeld Cars

If Dunkeld Cars has to cancel a booking, a full refund of any monies will be issued to the hirer.

In the event of an emergency, riot, civil commotion, strike, lock-out, stoppage or removal of labour or on the occurrence of any event over which the company has no control (including adverse weather and road conditions) or in the event of the hirer taking action to vary agreed conditions without prior arrangement, then the contract may be cancelled by the return of all money paid without further liability. 

Complaints

We will always do our best to meet and exceed your expectations however sometimes things go wrong.  Please contact Dunkeld Cars in writing within 7 days of your booking where your complaint will be investigated and every effort will be made to reach a satisfactory resolution.

Alterations to Terms and Conditions

Dunkeld Cars reserves the right to review its charges and Terms & Conditions periodically and thus also reserves the right to make changes as necessary without notice.
